Cancellation & Refund Policy
By booking an appointment with Ink & Trust Notary Services, LLC (“Ink & Trust,” “I,” or “me”), you agree to the Booking, Cancellation, Refund, and Rescheduling terms below.
This policy applies to the following services:

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Mobile / In‑Person Notarization

Witness Service (Non‑Notarial Act)
Ink & Trust Notary Services, LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. If you have questions about your legal rights, obligations, or the legal effect of your documents, please consult an attorney.
1. Booking Policy
1.1 General

All services are by appointment only.
-
Your appointment is considered confirmed once you receive a confirmation email or text from us.

We reserve the right to decline, stop, or reschedule an appointment if we believe we cannot complete it in compliance with Maryland law, professional standards, or platform requirements.
1.2 Remote Online Notarization (RON)

RON appointments must be booked in advance.
-
Your document must be uploaded to the secure platform before the session (typically at least 1 hour before your appointment).

All signers must have a valid, unexpired government‑issued photo ID and must complete the platform’s identity verification steps.

RON is completed using secure two‑way audio/video communication technology.
1.3 Mobile / In‑Person Notarization

Mobile appointments should be booked in advance when possible.
-
Travel is quoted and agreed to before travel begins.
-
Each signer must be present, willing, and able to sign, and present a valid, unexpired government‑issued photo ID.
-
Documents must be complete and ready, but not signed in advance unless your document instructions explicitly allow pre‑signing.
-
For notarizations: clients must bring any required witnesses.
1.4 Apostille Handling Request (Request‑Only; In‑Person Intake)

Apostille Handling is request‑only. Submitting a request does not confirm service or reserve a time slot.
-
If approved, documents are collected via an in‑person handoff (drop‑off or pickup by appointment only).
-
We do not collect documents via upload for Apostille Handling requests.
1.6 Witness Service (No Notarization)

Witness Service provides impartial witness support only; notarization is not included.
-
You are responsible for confirming how many witnesses are required and whether an independent witness is required.

Witness Service (No Notarization): Witness Only is not notarization. This booking does not include any notarial act.

For notarizations: clients must bring any required witnesses.

2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 Remote Online Notarization (RON) — Reservation Credit
-
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Payments collected at booking are applied to your notarization when service is completed.
Cancel / Reschedule:
​
-
24+ hours before your appointment: you may request a refund OR apply the payment as full credit to a new appointment (your choice).
-
Within 24 hours: credit only (no refund). Credit is valid for 7 days.
No‑Show
​

Booking credit is forfeited.
For RON, a “no‑show” includes:
-
Not joining the session within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time
-
Failure to complete required identity verification by the appointment time
-
Not having acceptable ID at the time of session
If a technical issue occurs on our side (platform outage or notary-side issue), your credit is preserved and you will be rescheduled at no charge.
2.2 Mobile / In‑Person Notarization

No cancellation fee applies when you cancel in advance (before travel begins).
If travel has begun, travel fees apply even if the appointment is canceled, rescheduled, or cannot be completed due to client-related issues (including but not limited to):

Signer not present or not ready

Missing or unacceptable ID
-
Incomplete/incorrect documents
-
Refusal to sign
-
Wrong location or access issues
TRAVEL FEES (IF TRAVEL HAS BEGUN)

$0.725 per mile (round trip) + $5
-
Mileage is calculated round trip from APG 21005 to the appointment location and back.

Travel is considered “begun” when the notary departs for the appointment.
-
Travel fees are quoted and agreed to before travel begins.
2.3 Witness Service (Non‑Notarial)
-
Cancellation rules follow the Mobile / In‑Person policy above.
-
No cancellation fee applies when you cancel in advance (before travel begins).
-
If travel has begun, travel fees apply: $0.725 per mile (round trip) + $5 (as defined above).
2.4 Certified Copy / Custodian Statement

Cancellation rules follow the Mobile / In‑Person policy above.
-
No cancellation fee applies when you cancel in advance (before travel begins).

If travel has begun, travel fees apply: $0.725 per mile (round trip) + $5 (as defined above).
2.5 Apostille Consultation (Phone) — No Cancellation Fee

There is no cancellation fee for Apostille Consultation (Phone).
-
You may cancel or reschedule at any time with no cancellation fee.
-
If a consultation fee was prepaid, you may request a refund OR apply it as credit toward a future consultation.
Missed calls:
-
If we cannot reach you within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, we will send a reschedule link (no cancellation fee).
Important: Apostille Handling is request‑only and has a separate process and policy.
2.6 Apostille Handling Request (Request‑Only; In‑Person Intake)

Submitting a request does not reserve a time slot and has no cancellation fee.

If a document handoff (drop‑off or pickup) is scheduled and travel has begun, travel fees apply: $0.725 per mile (round trip) + $5 (as defined above).

Government fees, shipping, and third‑party costs are separate and may become non‑refundable once purchased or submitted.
2.7 Loan Signing Appointments

Cancellation rules follow the Mobile / In‑Person policy above.

No cancellation fee applies when you cancel in advance (before travel begins).
-
If travel has begun, travel fees apply: $0.725 per mile (round trip) + $5 (as defined above).

If printing/scanbacks were requested, printing or other prep costs may be non‑refundable once work has begun.
3. Refund Policy
-
Notarial fees for completed acts are non‑refundable. Once a notarization is performed, the service is complete.
-
Travel fees are non‑refundable once travel has begun (as defined above).
-
For services not yet performed, prepaid amounts may be refundable or creditable based on the applicable cancellation section above.
-
If Ink & Trust must cancel an appointment and a reschedule is not possible, prepaid service fees for that appointment will be refunded.
-
Third‑party platform fees (for example, RON provider fees) and payment processing fees may be non‑refundable and are subject to those providers’ policies.
-
For apostille handling, government fees, shipping, and third‑party costs are separate and may be non‑refundable once purchased or submitted.
4. Rescheduling
-
If you need to reschedule, please do so as soon as possible.
RON:

24+ hours before: refund or credit (your choice).

Within 24 hours: credit only (valid 7 days).

No‑shows require a new booking.
Mobile / Witness / Certified Copy / Loan Signing:

No fee if rescheduled before travel begins.

Apostille Consultation (Phone):

No cancellation fee; reschedule at any time.

Missed calls will receive a reschedule link (no cancellation fee).
Apostille Handling Request:

Requests are reviewed first; if approved and a handoff is scheduled, rescheduling follows the mobile travel rule above.
5. Client Responsibilities
To help ensure a smooth appointment, clients agree to:

Provide accurate information when booking, including the type of document and any special requirements.
-
Ensure documents are complete and ready to sign (and not signed in advance unless allowed).
-
Ensure all signers and required witnesses are present, willing, and able to proceed.
-
For RON: maintain a stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet, well‑lit environment.
-
Confirm the receiving party will accept the notarization type (online vs. in‑person) and/or a certified copy/custodian statement when applicable.
Ink & Trust Notary Services, LLC cannot guarantee that any third party (court, agency, bank, or other institution) will accept your document or a particular notarization format.

Ink & Trust Notary Services, LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in this policy or in any communication from Ink & Trust should be taken as legal advice.
You are responsible for:

Determining whether Remote Online Notarization or in‑person notarization is acceptable, and

Confirming that your documents meet the requirements of the receiving party or jurisdiction.
